You might also like to take a look at Chapter 3 (Styles) on this page:
http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/category_index/wordprocessing.html
This might help you understand page styles, which you will need for your
title page and layouts.

BTW The TFO (Tutorials For OpenOffice.org) project is undergoing a major
