Yes, this is the place to come to with your OOo worries. What do you mean with 'takes a very long time to come up'? Did you complete the download from www.openoffice.org? Did you install the program? Now Windows 97 is quite old. The system requirements for OOo start with Windows 98. So whether it runs on your machine will depend on its capacities. Don't expect it to run fast!! How much RAM?
