I have to wonder why they don't simply add this little detail to the readme or some document that goes with OOo. Many users simply don't use the Programs button and even more don't know how to create an icon for the desktop or even how to use the context menu to Send an icon shortcut to the desktop. Somehow, it needs to be made more visible to newbies who dl OOo.
