If by this group you/they mean the users list to which you sent this email, this is a free mailing list on which users help each other. There is no charge, ever, for using it and you can belong for as long or as short a time as you wish. You can also, as others have told you, join a users list in German, which might be easier for you. And in future I would use the *free* OpenOffice.org download for upgrades.
