I think you have mistaken a file OpenOffice uses in its install
procedure for an icon. I assume you are using windows and the OpenOffice
program folder can be found under the >Start >My programs (or All
programs in vista). The shortcuts to all the options within Open Office
are within this folder.
If you have any problems finding the shortcuts then please let us know
