Newer openVZ kernels does not work well with KVM.

OpenNode is a stripped down CentOS install with the stock OpenVZ kernel and kvm 
packages to match it.  While their aim is to be a turnkey virtualization 
platform they also have repos that you can use on stock CentOS systems if you 
just want to add KVM support... although they do lag behind official OpenVZ 
kernel releases a little.

i was presuming the stock ovzkernel would support kvm.  not true apparently?
