Could you send me the output of COLUMNS=180 dpkg -l "linux-image*" And just checking. You did an apt-get update before apt-get dist-upgrade right? The reason why apt-get upgrade holds the package back is that it needs one more package. This is why you should use dist-upgrade in these cases.
