The word "task" has a quite specific meaning in the engine, and installation of a host is not a task. Generally speaking, AFAIK, you can't easily cancel a task. To debug host installation, while the installation is running, you can check /tmp of the host. You should be able to find there stuff of ovirt-host-deploy, which is the program running on the host to deploy it. If you manage to find the log, please check/post it. Thanks.
