Currently it is missing. You have to run *"engine-config -s
AllowClusterWithVirtGlusterEnabled=true"* first to enable both gluster
and virt in same cluster and edit the cluster using API or UI.
Please rise an RFE so that we can enable this in next release.

I would like to enable it automatically. Now I change it afterwards

There is no automatic way as of now to do this. It can either be done
via API or UI.
but after the change I have to put the hosts into maintenance and
activate them again. It would seems there must be a better way to do
this.
This is an issue as of now. There is a bug logged to track this
