sorry for my late response. I did not recognize your response in this mail 
portal.

So with PDFDebugger you were not able to reproduce... Are you able to reproduce 
it with PDFBox under windows? Unfortunately, there are no additional logs.

My assumption also is that it has something to do with a broken / non existing 
font. Some of our customers reported this problem and currently I am unable to 
give them a solution for that.

Even if we are able to identify the exact font causing the problem, the 
question is: How to fix the font? Or maybe it is possible to tell PDFBox to use 
an alternative font in such a case?

So maybe it makes more sense to phrase the question more general: What to do in 
such a case, where some font in a PDF causes problems (either it does not exist 
on the current OS or it is broken) ?
