Hi Guys. My team has used PDFBox for a number of years now. It's an awesome piece of software and we're really grateful for all the work that you've done on it.
We are currently using PDFBox 2.0.28. We are aware that the PDFBox 3.0.x branch has come out of beta and is now on mainline support. We think that you're adhering to SemVer, so we expect that the jump to PDFBox 3.0.x will introduce some backwards compatibility breaking changes. We're expecting that we'll have a large refactor in our stack to take advantage of the new features that you've built into v3.0.x. Have you yet set a date to deprecate or end-of-life the 2.0.x branch? I checked your website on the FAQ page https://pdfbox.apache.org/2.0/faq.html and the migration guide https://pdfbox.apache.org/2.0/migration.html. I was unable to find a date for when the v2.0.x branch would no longer be supported. If you have a deprecation date for v.2.0.x, we'd love to know about it so we can budget some time for our next upgrade project.
