Hi Andy, So, as far as I understand explicit calls to qpid-route link XXX are not necessary without any calls to "route add," "queue add," or "dynamic add."? Are there any usecases to invoke "qpid-route link XXX" without any subsequent calls to "route add," "queue add," or "dynamic add."?

This is required in order for federation to work, and is done implicitly if you don't already have a link when you run "route add," "queue add," or "dynamic add."
