Having discussed the issue with members of the Apache Qpid and Apache
ActiveMQ communities, I would like to request the addition of two
specific connection properties to the registry at
http://www.amqp.org/specification/1.0/connection-properties:
(1) process_name, which can be used to convey the name of the process
associated with the connection and,
(2) process_id, which can be used to convey the pid of that same process.
These provide useful tools to those managing systems involving AMQP. The
intention of course is not to mandate their use but to encourage anyone
who does want to send this information to use the same mechanism for
greater interoperability and improved experience to all.
