As has been said, this last cycle was unusually long. It was combined
with reorganising the various components and migrating repositories
etc, and that took longer than desired. We should perhaps have just
bitten the bullet and released it again before proceeding with that
process, but that essentially the same situation which arose the
previous time as well and repeating it could have encouraged putting
things off further.

In any case now thats done and this release is progressing, future
releases should have no significant barriers to being done more
regularly. We can and should do more point releases too, I'm happy to
help do them if needed. Releases are for the most part only as hard as
we make them.
