I fixed https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/SM-1214 by changing the
short name to a valid string.  It looks like those files were added last
year to fix some other issue so I didn't want to remove them.

Your first error below looks like a known Geronimo issue, but from what I
understand it can be ignored:

The second issue could any number of things.  Do you have other apps running
on this Geronimo instance and did you restart Geronimo after the previous
deployment attempts?
