Your right, For TB 3.0, you'll need to downgrade lightning to 1.0b1 as
well but works like a charm.

TB version 3.1.x creates the same problem you describe - disappearing
events in calendars.
Downgrading from TB 3.1 to 3.0 does also fixes the problem.
Sorry, one more clarifying question:
Were you able to successfully install Lightning 1.0b2 (any edition) on
Thunderbird 3.0?
I was somehow under the impression that b2 requires Thunderbird 3.1?
