Hi,
providing a ready-to-run appliance is IMHO a nice idea!
Is there any special reason by using Cyrus as IMAP-Server? Does it run better
with SOGo?
Ok, here are some reasons why we did that :
- we (Inverse) have been using and developing on Cyrus for more than 8
years
- Cyrus has everything single thing we need (ACL, QUOTA, SORT, Sieve,
shared mailboxes, etc.) and have had that for many years
- Cyrus is blistering fast and stable
- Cyrus has many nice features we can eventually explore
- annotations
- SQUAT indexes
- replication and murder
Those are no arguments for a Dovecot vs. Cyrus debate. I do not want to
get into this nor I want to see this on [email protected]. Both solutions
are very good and perhaps ZEG will eventually let you chose.
