Hello,

I am supporting a small SOGo installation at a client of ours, it has been
running a month or two. This is replacing an old
Exchange system from which most of the data was migrated.

First, the setup:
Server
Debian Squeeze (6.0)
SOGo 1.3.7a (via apt) using OpenLDAP (auth) and MySQL
(storage(folder/session/profile)).
Mail: Dovecot/Postfix

Client
Windows 7
Thunderbird 3.1.10 (IMAP) with:
 - Connector 3.105
 - Integrator 3.105
 - Lightning (Inverse) 1.0b2.105i

They have started re-working their address book in the past week(s) and a few
issues have come to light.
Starting from 'it doesn't work' I have spent a few hours working along side a
few people testing and I can confirm that things
are not working as they should. This seems to be limited exclusively to the
address book as the calendar seems to work fine.

It seems to boil down to the fact that changes made on the Client (Thunderbird)
do not (mainly) get reflected on the server and
other clients. Doing a right-click and 'Synchronize' on the shared address book
also does not prompt all changes (a PROPFIND is
seen in the logs). Closing and re-starting Thunderbird, however, does seem to
trigger a update. This needs to be done on both
the Client who has made the changes and then afterwards on another client for
them to 'receive' the updates from the server.

I have good access to the server (via SSH) and so the logs and configuration
but limited access to the Client PC's for testing.

I have been unable to reproduce this on a local SOGo install but this
environment does not reflect that of the clients.

I have been reading through the archives looking for something that mirrors
this issue but did not find anything from this year.
The closest I found was this thread:
<http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00259.html> but that seems to be
an issue
that was resolved and I my traces I did not see a HTTP header
"Transfer-Encoding: chunked".

I have not found any suspects in the sogo.log or apache access.log.

Any help or pointers on how to debug and resolve this would be great.

Regards

Chris Moules
