Hi all,

A thank you to those who responded to my message. Every answer is a step closer to a solution :o)

I am still confused in how to manage LDAP. I found this:

Tutorial: slapd.conf LDIF - OpenLDAP V2.x

This example supports two domains and uses two databases (one for each domain) and uses multiple groups within an organization.

Because, as far as I can see it, adding multi domain support to the GNUstepDefaults XML file is not enough. Users need to be created in LDAP. I can't understand there is a decent howto that explains step by step how to set up SOGo and related software.

Anybody who has a clue?

Best regards,

Harry

Hi all,

I have managed to setup the basic SOGo 1.3.5a on ClearOS (CentOS), and use the web GUI. Installing the plugins is off-topic here.

I have an external web and mail server running, which contains a series of virtual domains. On COS, I do a fetchmail from the external POP3 server. (Perhaps this can be optimized, but for now it does the job...).

I did some research on SOGo and multi domains. But I just don't see the connection between the LDAP and the multi domain setup in SOGo. What I would like to achieve is that I can setup a domainA.com and a domainB.com. These domains are all hosted externally. Every individual user needs to be able to login with his email address. These domains are not related what so ever. Iow, the users could be Bob Whatever from Company ABC and Bob Somebody from MyBusiness Ltd, and don't need to share resources on the server. Do I need to enter data in LDAP for additional domains and users specific to this new domain? In the manual I see only the GNUstepDefaults being updated. But what about LDAP? How does this all fit together?

An additional question is: Can it be done to use a script to update the LDAP info (if needed), as well as the SOGo user info? Where could I find information on what is stored in the databases? Config files are easy to build with aid of a script fetching info from an external database. But to understand the entire process, I would like to understand what LDAP is doing, where and how it is stored. Some info from the LDAP is used directly from SOGo, some info apparantly needs to be entered manually in SOGo GNUstepDefaults.

Looking forward to get more in depth information to solve the puzzle ;o)

Regards,

Harry
