When I delete it and then start TB, the file is recreated and grows and grows and grows After 20 minutes it's about 7MB in size and TB is (almost) freezed and disk is spinning and spinning....

Yes, I have seen something similar. Something I mentioned in my post yesterday (got missed with the massive interest in the new addons) is that comparing the two versions of the older lightning xpi that the mozilla version was far quicker to recreate its cache file approx 90s compared to the Sogo version of lightning, taking 10-12 mins. Also the sogo version tends to make thunderbird completely lock up so its unusable until the cache has been rebuilt ...

I have no idea why there's the difference though ..
