Did you open a bug report at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs ?

I haven't opened a bug report (yet). I wanted a better idea of what is
happening so I can file a useful report.
I asked the question on the mailing list to determine whether I have
made a beginner's mistake in configuration or hit a well-known problem.
I am guessing from the responses so far that this isn't the case.
I have just set up a second server which should be identical to the
first. I plan to use it to try to replicate the problem and narrow down
the potential causes. So far I have the following potential causes:
- dovecot back end choice (I am using mdbox rather than mdir or mbox at
the moment);
- number of messages
- number of folders
- method of transferring messages to the new server (from zarafa using
imapsync) and the switches used in the transfer.
Hopefully I can eliminate enough potential causes to shed some light on
the actual cause.
Thanks
John
