I am new to Solr, therefore need the community's help to understand the
JVM memory consumption.
When there are no collections on Solr, the JVM memory consumed is approx
50MB. But once I create 150 collections and restart Solr, JVM consumes
around 2GB.

Can someone let me know what is consuming so much space as all
collections are empty.
We can't see your picture. The mailing list deletes almost all
attachments. You will need to make the file available on a public
website and give us a URL to access it.
How familiar are you with how Java handles memory? What you are
describing does not sound problematic to me.
Thanks,
