good, maybe spammers are testing default scores before thay even try to send it ?

spammers can use ipv6 aswell, it does not hurd spammers if you change ipv4 scores :=)

Is everyone that installs SA expected to know enough to go change the scores on all rules just to catch an Asian "I want your sex" blatant email?
one rule i use is you as recipient knows what is spam or not spam, no matter what score spamasssassin give it, that score changes can be added to user_prefs.cf or as i do now into sql with postgresql backend

I lowered my threshold to 4,
you miss why its default 5 ?, reason is that rules in spamassassin is optimised for reguired score of 5, lowering it can be surprised sometimes depending of what emails one get
and I'm still getting way more obvious spam uncaught than caught.
you have possible not latest spamassassin or rules ?
Some of my users are getting a hundred blatant spam (not subtle spam...) emails per day such as "grow your member", "hard all night", etc subject lines.

If I raised the threshold to the out-of-the-box 5.0, I might get 1 spam message flagged for every 100 obvious spams. Almost NOTHING is getting scored over 5.
train bayes on relly spam mails, and aswell olso non spam mails so bayes know what is unwanted
I just want to know if everyone who installs SA is expected to go in and modify all of the rule scores in order to get more that 1-2% effectiveness of SA?

I can't believe that is the case. Is there really not a single rule that comes with SA that detects "hard all night", "grow your member", and "I want your sex"?
rule maintainers get not much sex, i could not resist here :=) if you turn it into jokes i will give jokes back
