hi sidney,

plugins have configuration options? new news to me!

They are merged in with the other options and documented in
 man Mail::SpamAssassin::Conf

For example in that man page search for auto_whitelist_path which is the
one you were having trouble with. Some of them can only be set system
wide, that is, not in an individual user's user.pref file, because they
are considered sensitive. But they all should work in
/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf as a system wide customization.

hmmm ....i don't remember seeing anything ...

ah. fyi (& others who may be interested), no such reference to "auto_whitelist_path" in (my) "man Mail::SpamAssassin::Conf"

rather, in the distro's README:

   A system-wide auto-whitelist can be used, by setting the
   auto_whitelist_path and auto_whitelist_file_mode configuration commands
   appropriately, e.g.

       auto_whitelist_path        /var/spool/spamassassin/auto-whitelist
       auto_whitelist_file_mode   0666

and in

"man Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::AWL(3)"

   auto_whitelist_path /path/filename (default: ~/.spamassas-
          sin/auto-whitelist)
              This is the automatic-whitelist directory and filename. By
              default, each user has their own whitelist database in their
              "~/.spamassassin" directory with mode 0700. For system-wide Spa-
              mAssassin use, you may want to share this across all users,
              although that is not recommended.

so, yay! thx!

as for 'merged' manpages, am i missing soemthing?

thx! again very much =)
