i disbaled it from the local.cf file "skip_rbl_checks 1" and there is
no -L switch in the SPAMDOPTIONS, dumping the spamd options again
SPAMDOPTIONS="-x -u spamd -H /home/spamd -d -q"

the debug output shows that it got proper dns replies but no points
are added to the score.

machine A and B are behind the firewall, the primary address of the
firewall forwards traffic to machine A and a virtual IP on the
firewall forwards traffic on machine B. do RBL requires some special
setup on the network level ? dig and netstat give proper response on
both the machines. is there any why i can manully check the RBL list ?

checked the DNS response on machine B its coming fine. debug options
also says that the dns queries are replied back correctly. thus
restating the problem, the problem is DNS queires are sent and
received properly but spamassassin is not adding points to the mail
message on machine B.
