Hmmm....thanks for your reply Karsten. I already had v3.2.3 running on the system, so I thought was upgrading! I followed the instructions on the "Upgrading to the latest version" page (http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/UpgradingVersion) which suggested installing by CPAN to upgrade so that's what I did (I didn't think I was being foolish!!).
