MySQL on a RAMdisk is still performing well enough here that I haven't looked at that (still running 3.3.2, in fact; 3.4.x on a new VM platform has finally hit the top of my priority list this month), but if you're changing things already, yeah, that's probably a better path to start on. -kgd
