Hello Adlet, Regarding the deployment of spring in tomcat: I would recommend you to keep the application libraries (spring and others) in your WEB-INF/lib. You can have a look at this fantastic tutorial .
About websockets: keep in mind that tomcat has out-of-the-box websocket support. Nevertheless should not be a problem if you choose to use another implementation that integrates better in your app. Me in the past I did deploy some websockets  applications in tomcat and they worked.
