I can't say, since I don't use httpd.

There's an AJP <Connector> attribute that appears to be relevant:

"useIPVHosts - Set this attribute to true to cause Tomcat to use the ServerName 
passed by the native web server to determine the Host to send the request to. 
The default value is false."
