If you mean "at runtime without (graceful) restart" then at the moment the only way is adding the nodes in advance in a stopped state, and then enabling them in the status worker, when you need them. At the moent, you need to make the state changes to the workers.properties in parallel, otherwise it will be lost after restart. We plan to make status worker changes persistent in a future release. You might want to file a Bugzilla enhancement request about dynamic worker adding.
