I should have done some reading. It's looking like VegaDNS added a patch for 0.8.1 a while ago. I've been putting off upgrading for a while. I'm going to do an upgrade to 0.9.7 to get this cleaner functionality, and everything will probably be clear at that point.

I'm assuming that the "\072" is because VegaDNS doesn't parse the colon properly. I think this is supposed to be a TXT record.

I haven't tried this lately, but it worked in the past.. I'll have to check it out again...
