Hi Raj,
I think you need to refresh 'detailPanel' instead of 'panelOnClick'.
Something like this:

.
Panel panelOnClick = new DetailTabbedPanel("detailPanel", defNode);
panelOnClick.setOutputMarkupId(true);
this.detailPanel.replaceWith(panelOnClick);
this.detailPanel = panelOnClick;
target.addComponent(detailPanel);
.
.
.
panelOnClick panel is not rendered when you add it to detailPanel.
