So 1) you uploaded your new image (say, "mylogo.png") and 2) you edited the skin page in object mode and changed logo.png with mylogo.png, saved the page and it still does not work properly, right ?
if you're working on your own install you may want to look into xwiki-enterprise-1.1-milestone-1-hsqldb\xwiki-enterprise-1.1-milestone-1\webapps\xwiki\skins\albatrossand put your own logo there...
