Rights assignment is a bit tricky. And there are a number of issues as 
well (you can keep track of them or contribute in http://jira.xwiki.org; 
you just need to create your own account and create filters, vote, watch 
issues,..., nice stuff)

I've done a couple of test, and it seems that yes: disabling rights for 
a group, does also disable other rights.

A couple of test as well, this seems to do this way. In fact, enabling 
superadmin seems to be the extreme case.

But, please, report any unexpected behaviour! There are pending issues 
on this area!

I am sure this will help to make a picture of the system... and probable 
will rise some more doubts!
