Sure... But why don't you have your users use the Watchlist feature that basically already is XWiki's favorites system for individual users ? Cf http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Applications/WatchlistApplication , it's bundled with all recent versions of XWiki Enterprise AFAIR ...
