I solved the latter. I had to check also the field "Check Active fields for user authentication" (whose meaning I absolutely do and did not understand from this description, that's why I left it as it was until now), then users who registered themselves cannot do anything until they confirmed their Email. Now the problem keeps there, that they cannot confirm because the verification code is not sent to them, only velocity code. Am I hitting a bug, or is that somehow "normal" behaviour? Do i have to switch something on additionally to get those verification Mails working?
