Basically to have the new WYSIWYG you need the new syntax. So the common way is to do what Asiri explained: change the syntax and then you will get the new WYSIWYG. Note that there is quite big difference between 1.0 and 2.0 syntax when you do Velocity scripting or insert html so the converter do what it can but you will need to check the result.
