Telecom Understanding of all OSI layers and eTOM, TMN models Knowledge of SNMP, TL1, SONET/SDH… network management protocols knowledge of NMS (Network Management System), Fault Management System, EMS (Element Management System), Performance mangement Understanding of various wireline/wireless network architecture in terms of network elements (routers, switches,cards..) and topology (ring, mesh etc..) *Position: 3* *Network Test Engineer* *No of positions: 2* *Work location: Middletown, NJ* *Duration: 12months+* Provides hands-on system testing support for Juniper hardware and software in AT&T Labs in Middletown NJ Will report into Juniper engineering or customer service organization (TBD) Focus is on pre-certification of solutions prior to AT&T certification testing to ensure quality before AT&T begins their own testing. Requires the development and execution of test cases based on AT&T specific designs. Includes opening cases/PR's to track issues found. Tracking and reporting of test results. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently as well as working closely with Juniper engineering in troubleshooting and resolution of issues. Validation of problem fixes. Collaboration with other vendor engineers on complete solution interoperability. This includes ALU, Cisco, Ciena. Familiarity with Ethernet routing and switching solutions from these vendors would be a positive. Technical expertise requirements: Juniper solutions include MX960, MX480, MX2020, MX2010, Junos 12.1+, and Junos Space. Expertise in Junos and configuration of MPLS-based VPN technologies is required. Expertise in Ethernet network design including GE / 10GE, 802.1q VLANs, OAM, etc… Specific protocols include BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP, RSVP-TE along with BGP-VPNs (L2VPN, VPLS, L3VPN).
