Unix Developer Atleast 10 years experience !!!!!!! Must have EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION We are only interested in a top notch Oracle developer with experience in large databases with partitioning.** What other candidates were missing: -10 years of experience in Unix. (they are passing on people with 6 years) -experience with huge databases. must have done a similar project on at least a 1 terabite d-base -must know partitioning: they know what it means, what it is, what it does, how you do it, and have done it. Description: Unix/Oracle Develops batch processes for a financial reporting application. The scripting environment is Perl and Korn Shell. Scripts make heavy use of a large Oracle database, so strong Oracle database programming and performance tuning skills are also required. Develops batch processing scripts in a Unix Environment. Scripts are developed in Korn Shell and Perl. The scripts call vendor provided executables and access brokerage performance data stored in an Oracle database. The Oracle database has 1.5 TB of data (growing to 3 TB in Q1 2009), so experience working with large tables and files is important. The database is also partitioned to take advantage of Oracle Parallel query, partition-wise joins and partition elimination functionality so experience with that technology is expected. The ideal candidate will be able to work directly with business analysts and/or from requirements documentation to design and develop enhancements to existing processes as well as new processes with a minimum of supervision. Additional Information that might be helpful: The primary skill we are looking for is experience with large Oracle database with partitions, and even better if experienced with sub-partitions. Experience with tuning and design on such systems is what will draw our interest. It is expected that any such candidate will also have experience with Unix shell scripting. Perl experience is a bonus. Experience with other scripting languages implies that the candidate will be able to pick up Perl quickly. So for the "Perl" requirement, we believe that a history of learning scripting languages of several kinds is sufficient.
