Position: *Database Developer- Sybase(Must have Java experience) *
Location: New York NY
Duration: 6 Months
The individual will work with a team of developers in the Portfolio
Accounting area within Asset Management technology in Data Warehouse related
projects. The team is a global team with staff in New York and in
Offshore. The individual must be able to work on both development and
production support. Night support maybe required.
*Principal Responsibilities:*
* Primarily responsible for the development and maintenance and support
of *PMDB (Portfolio Management Databases) applications*
* Develop enhancements and new functionality for our existing
applications
* Communicate effectively with business users and translate business
requirements into technical implementation.
* Handle the day to day maintenance and production support providing a
fast response
*Experience/Skills:*
* *5+ years* of hands-on strong experience in *Sybase*
* *Strong Unix/Linux scripting* skills
* *DB2/UDB experience a plus*
* *Strong skills in Java* and Web Based Technologies i.e. JSP, Struts,
J2EE, JMS, SOA, XML, etc.
* Experience with *Perl a plus*
* Prior *working experience* with *autosys* preferred
* Strong analytical and communication skills
* Ability to take initiative, work independently, and prioritize tasks
based on business needs
* Ability to learn the business and workflow and recommend changes to
business & technical partners
* 3+ years of *Financial Services industry experience*. Asset
Management and Portfolio Accounting experience preferred
* Must be a *team player***
