*Job Description*:
*Technical Skills *
· 5-7 years of IT Infrastructure experience in an enterprise
environment.
· Working knowledge of Corba, 2-4 years of Corba administration and
automation experience in a high availability environment Strongly desired.
(See Recruiter Notes)
· Experience building Apache 2.x from source strongly desired.
· Experience with Web Services in and SOA environment.
· Proficient with unix shells and scripting tools such as JACL,
Jython and WSADMIN.
· Experience working with SSL and certificates.
· Working knowledge of Unix and networks.
· 2-4 years of Web Sphere administration and automation experience
in a high availability environment. (Will waive some Web Services exp for
Corba.)
· Experience installing and configuring WAS on multiple platforms
especially Sun and Suse Linux
· Experience with Web Sphere Application Server v.5x and v.6x and
Apache 2.x
*Non-Technical Skills *
· 5 to 7 years IT experience on multiple platforms/technologies
· Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities and multi tasking
capabilities
· Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical ability including
analysis of log files and java dumps.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to work within an established timeframe to
complete tasks
· Strong Leadership skills and demonstrated success using skills
· Ability to work well with Customers at all levels (Leadership and
Non-Leadership) and proven success doing so
· Ability to work well in a Team environment

· Working knowledge of Identity management systems and JMX
· Working knowledge of software build and deployment practices.

· Working knowledge of Java development tools.
· Working knowledge with Java, Jsp, Javascript and
internet/component-based development
· Experience with JBoss, Oracle Application Server, Apache Tomcat,
Weblogic
· Experience contributing in project planning, estimating,
scheduling, and execution.
· Knowledge of agile methodology and iterative development.

*Job Responsibilities & Expectations of Candidate (i.e.,
on-call/pager, % maintenance vs. development, etc.) *
· Primary responsibility will be to focus on non-project related
general maintenance, troubleshooting and support activities for existing
environments, especially Corba environments.
· Tune, test, deploy, patch and maintain Web and Applications
Services environments including planning for required capacity and growth.
· Apply a broad understanding of system environments, databases and
utilities in analyzing, developing, testing, debugging and implementing
modifications to existing systems.
· Identify and analyze system and application problems. Determine
solutions; develop, test and implement fixes.
· Participate in a 24x7 on-call pager rotation and off hours
activities as necessary.
*Team information*
Contract / Staff augmentation member of a Team having Engineering,
Administrative and support responsibilities for Web Services, Middleware
andApplications Frameworks environments. The position is a member of the
Sub-Team of 8 people responsible for Web and Application Server
Engineering. Primary responsibility will be supporting the Southwest.
Airlines Strategic Web (Web Sphere and Apache) and CORBA application
Servers. Secondary responsibility will be supporting non-standard (for
Southwest Airlines) Web Services environments for approved purchased Third
Party Applications.
