There has been some dicussion about 10 not being divisible by 3.  The
practical answer is that if you wish easy dividability start with a number
that is divisible by 3.  A common size of metric plywood is 1200 by 2400
mm.That is just as divisible by 3 as 48" by 96"..

However, it is easier to divide a metric dimension by any old-ball divisor
than to divide an inch dimension by the same divisor if you work in binary
fractions of an inch.
