In your presentation about the fighting in the Israel and Palestine area,
you showed everything in square miles. Thus you just presented me with a
new record for calculations needed to convert King George III Colonial
units. I am not going to mail those antiquated measures to my
grandchildren and I find it to be incredible that our schools are still
teaching them in place of the International System of units (SI-metric).

Each week I mail News for Kids to a couple of my grandchildren. Before
doing so I change all of the King George Colonial units to SI. It was in
1975 that our Congress passed the Metric Conversion Act but since then
Congress and America has backpedaled continually. This in spite of the fact
that all of the rest of the world has adopted SI-metric for its daily use.
Even Canada and Britain are in their final stages of converting to metric
but here we are still using King George III Colonial units every day.

At the very least you should be showing both measures to help to educate and
prepare our children for the modern world.

Sincerely,

Norman V. Werling
