Han criticizes my argument against learning and using the prefixes centi
deci deka and hecto by saying:

Han, you have misunderstood what I wrote.

I AGREE that these four prefixes are fully recognized. I have my copy of the
BIPM brochure and am familiar with its contents.

I am saying that I prefer not to encourage their use and especially I would
DISCOURAGE their use in areas where it is not already common practice. I
think SI is better without them. If we don't encourage their use, I think
they will gradually fall out of common use and then can be dropped from SI
completely.
