Why don't you hold a "FFU trivia" contest? Just to see how many people who call in real know FFU? You can even give out prizes. You and your producers can figure out how it should be handled. But, if enough people call in and get wrong answers, you can keep a survey and use it as proof that FFU is unknown. You can even ask people to add up common fractions and see if they can do it, or do simple math trying to compare FFU quantities. You might even try to throw in some metric units and see if people recognize them.
