That's odd, Gene.

I thought that, in a free society, the standards of popular entertainment
were determined by the marketplace (which is why we use the term "popular"),
not by the government. With around 100 cable channels, I and my family have
a sufficient variety of standards from which to choose.

Given free choice, my grandchildren (aged 9 and 7) watch the Cartoon
Network, the Disney Channel, or Nickelodeon for their entertainment. I see
them moving on to PBS, Discovery, the History Channel, and The Learning
Channel to augment their school experience.
