Our office staff posted this reminder on our intranet this week. I know there are a
few on the list who may find this information interesting. It seems we have kept a
vague reference to the "1 ounce letter" in our domestic and American postal rates. I
am grateful since many of my letters are awefully close to 30 g.
Linear dimensions for postal rates are more obviously translations from the original
Imperial measures, but they are quoted in millimetres.
"Maximum dimensions (standard size lettermail) 245 mm x 150 mm x 5 mm Postcards: 235
mm x 120 mm"
"Maximum dimensions (oversize lettermail) 380 mm x 270 mm x 20 mm."
