The Home Depot [ http://www.homedepot.com ], [ http://www.homedepot.ca ] has a number
of calculators available to determine how much supplies are need for a project of a
given size.

They provided a metric input option, however there were a number of glaring errors:

1) they had two blanks for input, one for metres (abbreviated as 'M') and one for
centimetres (correctly symbolized as 'cm') much as one would have for feet and inches.
However it does accept decimal fractions of a metre and cm over 100. They did not give
the mm option which I found surprising since most construction in North America uses
the mm as the basic unit of measure.

2) the materials listed were only given using the WOMBAT dimensions and not soft metric

3) the output was always in American gallons, inches, feet, yards, etc. rather than
litres and metres.

They have a user-friendly contact form an I urge you to write them to ask them to make
a few subtle improvements.
