I've just gone to my IEEE online site and scanned the articles found by
searching on "Bluetooth" and that I had access to. That amounted to two
Spectrum articles in the last several months. I scanned each of those
for "foot", "feet", and "yard" with null results. Other journals were
listed but I'm not a subscriber to them.

Yes, IEEE is *extremely* metric. Once in awhile a non-metric unit will
be used in a colloquial manner (e.g., "the whole nine yards") but that's
it. Several months ago I posted a mini-biography they published about
someone; they gave his height and weight in SI units. [Aside to the
purists assembled: that's really "mass" and they were prefixed SI
units.]

Can you send me a citation for that article you read, Chris?
