To-day there was a reaction in the paper version of the Telegraaf bij someone who works in the Dutch Metrology Institute (NMI), on the BWMA/UKIP ifp goon article bij the Dutch Euro-hater Prof. Smalhout. (I think that he should set up a EWMA, to achieve Imperial adoption here, and what about a campaign to have the medical profession revert to old apothecary's weight and to have blood pressure measured in inHg?) METRIC Prof. Smalhout is absolutely wrong when he calls the last stages of metrication in Britain a piece of EU lusting for power (2001-01-20). He could have avoided this blooper if he had asked information from the NMI about the historical development, the background, the driving forces behind and the global importance of the metric system. Schiedam, J. Sterk There are now 6 reactions on my text in the electronic version of the Telegraaf, and all of them do not support Smalhout, Han
